St. Lucia---Helicopter vs. private car????

What are your girls thoughts? The only three things that are keeping me from the helicopter ride are:

1) afraid of heights.
2) How trained are the pilot's SO I do not die on my honeymoon?
3) The luggage goes in a car to the hotel (takes almost 2 hrs and the helicopter will be there in 12min)

Any recommendations or advise?

I am so glad you asked this question! FH gets horrible car sickness so easily, and I absolutely HATE being a passenger in another person's car for more than 2 minutes, so I'd rather do the Helicopter...i've done it in Hawaii and it was pretty cool (i was a bit nervous, though)...FH is deathly afraid of flying, but is more open to a helicopter than a plane. but still does not want to take the helicopter....so i am stuck too! I am thinking of booking the helicopter and surprising him so he is just forced to go on it!!! maybe not the best way to start off our honeymoon!

i dont know, which one sounds more appealing to you?

we had an hour drive from the airport at nice to monaco...at first i was dreading this, but i was surprised how fast the drive went, our driver was pretty fast though lol and pulling crazy moves. But Dh and i loved it, we got to see nice and see other parts of france, the whole time we were looking out the window like OMG look at that, and commenting on everything. Even seeing their highways and just different things we loved seeing. It was also my dream since i was a teenager to go there so it was surreal and was fascinated with everything.

I would ask others who did the drive, if its an interesting ride, not sure if there will be lots to see. Also 2 hours is different than 1 hour, so not sure if you would mind being in the car for that long.

The helicopter sounds cool real cool too though

The helicopter would be more appealing cause we both have never done that...

I have read mix reviews on here about the drive to and from the airport to the resort. alot of girls saying they and others got 'very car sick'... I guess i could always pop a dramamine. however we would have a 'private car' so we could always tip the driver and say 'be gentle'... lol...

I would love to take the helicopter though only cause its our honeymoon and we could experience something we both never have.

Its a toss up...

hehehheheh yeah maybe not the best way but eh too bad you will be married at that point lol

Yeah i dont really get 'car sick' but from reading other stories on here girls who dont get sick got sick. But we also would do a private car not the bus... Ugh decisions decisions...

Thanks ladies..

One thing. If we drive we will not be doing the bus. FH's mother said she would hook us up for a 'private car'... so that is really nice of her..

I will keep ya posted. For the girls that took the helicopter thank you cause i wanted to also know your exerience on it and it all seems positive!

ok i did the private car to the resort and it wasnt too bad if they take the short cut which gets you to the resort in about 50-55 min (they fly and go thought all sorts of villages....we saw lots of machetties ) this really wasnt so bad.. which is why we opted NOT to do the chopper ride of the way back thinking the bus would be the same...

MAN WE WERE WRONG! we really dropped the ball on this one! The bus ride was an hour & half i got so sick and was sick the 4 hours we had to WAIT in the airport... it was a really bad experience and a bad way to end the trip. If we ever go back we are doing helicopter with out a doubt. its worth the $$ and you get the experiece... oh and by the way.. im PETRIFIED TO FLY on a major airline let a lone a helicopter..but i thought the bus ride was so bad i would do anything to never have to do it again!

this is just my opinion everyone feels differently so i say go for the chopper when can you ever do it again?

no the private car wasnt so bad if they took the short cut. and def. recommend bringing dramamine if your worried about car sickness...

we saw tons and tons and tons of helicopters all week and the day of depature. we saw one couple leave for the helicopter and then we saw them again at the airport so they made it alive! if you have the option i would take private car TO the resort and then helicopter on the way home.
