Re: St Lucia HM?
2 Weeks is not too long if you love the beach and relaxing with a little fun mixed in. Sandals has a lot of activities (so I am told my a co-worker) When they went- they stayed 8 days and wanted to stay longer. They went horse back riding in the water, went sailing, off roading in jeeps to see the island and more.
I think going to a place like sandals would be better- I hear the food is awesome and you can go to all of their resorts on that island if you wanted.

I agree. We plan on booking with Sandals in St. Lucia. We're still undecided whether to stay at Sandals Grande or Sandals Regency. But it doesn't really matter since you can go to all their resorts for dinner or activities.

I HIGHLY recommend Sandals. My FH and I visited The Sandals resort in Antigua. They have all different excursions and the food was awesome. We stayed eight days and we didn't want to leave at all.
I heard the St. Lucia Sandals resorts are beautiful. We were originally going to vacation at one of the resorts in St . Lucia; however, FH and I are not partial to flying. To get to St. Lucia, you need to take two planes. I suggest you definately stay the two weeks. You won't regret it!

I am pretty sure American has direct flights to St. Lucia at least 3 days/week.
If you are going for 2 weeks, what about switching resorts after a week, to make it more interesting for you?

Re: St Lucia HM?
We had nightmares flying American Airlines from NY to San Juan, then San Juan to Anitgua. & then from Antigua to Miami & Miami back to NY. They constnatly overbook flights & we were left flying standby for our flights on the way to our honeymoon(talk about being stressed!) Staff is extremely discurteous and down-right rude. They also lost a piece of our luggage & have the worst support staff ever - we will NEVER use them again!

I would def recommend Sandals in St. Lucia! An all inclusive is the way to go there – I don’t know if I would feel 100% safe walking around in the town trying to find a restaurant to eat at.
DH and I went there for a week and it was the perfect amount of time for us. 10 days would probably be good too, but I think 2 weeks might be a little too long. There are things to do there, but every excursion is around $100pp, so it could def add up quick!
We did the ziplining and horseback riding and they were both great. Let me know if you have any questions.

I didnt go for my HM but DH & I went for a 5 day trip once. I personally think 2 weeks is long unless both of you are the type to sit by the pool all day. My DH cant sit still so 5 days was enough time there for him.
We stayed at the COconut Bay....nice but not in my opinion a HM hotel

My cousin and his wife stayed at the Regency in St. Lucia for 2 weeks. They loved it! I can't say from experience, but we're staying for a week at the Grande. Not sure if at that point I'll be ready to come home or want to stay. Maybe 8-10 days would be nice. 2 weeks seems a little long to just be at a resort to me.

We're likely doing 7 days. FH is another one who can't sit still any longer than that in one place. I'm still researching which resort I want but as long as you can visit the others, it doesn't matter.

we stayed 7 days at the Grande and LOVED it...we wished we could have done our orignal 10 day plan...I think 2 weeks might be a bit long but that's just my opinion!! Sandals was AWESOME though!

Yeah, I looked into this. They'll fly non-stop from JFK to St. Lucia on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. My travel agency mentioned it would only be during certain months, but it didn't say that in the article I read. I'm hoping they fly there in July. My FH and I had a horrible experience with a 1 stop flight to Florida both ways and swore we would only do non-stop in the future.

I didn't know American flies non-stop. Everyone has told me you either have to stop in San Juan or Miami. Good to know! Thanks!

Re: St Lucia HM?
A friend of mine had recommended Ladera in St. Lucia. It's similar to Jade Mountain but a little more affordable - and it's GORGEOUS. Definitely look it up (open-air rooms). Very secluded - and small - only 26 rooms - but they still offer excursions and all that. We are considering that or Sandals, which I think probably has a little more of the party atmosphere (haven't decided which route we want to go yet).
She was there 1 week and said that was enough. In her opinion, longer would have been a little -too- long, but it depends what you like to do. If you can hang on the beach all day, every day, you're probably good.
We're probably going to do a cruise first, then hop over to St. Lucia for 5-7 days afterward to get a little variety!
