FH and I plan to go to St. Lucia at the end of July 2010. We know that Sandals is the most popular resort in St. Lucia. We were debating between Sandals Regency and Sandals Grande.
Does anyone know which resort has a younger feel? Does either have any any sort of nightlife? We def want a romantic honeymoon but would like to have some fun as well. Which has a better beach? I know that you can eat at any Sandals restaurant, but which resort has best restaurants on site?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance.....

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
I am going to the Sandals Grande very soon!!! YEY!!
From what my TA told me the regency has more of a nightlife, the Grande has better beaches, and they both have good resturants depending on what you are looking for.
I can tell you def. in October when I get back

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
def stay at the GRANDE ...it is NICER and the crowd seems to be a little younger!
I booked Regency...my travel agent said that she thinks its the best one and it has a nightlife, but also its quiet enough for a HM. I've read lots of great things.

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
Grande is nicer, but there really isnt much night life at sandals resorts we have been to a few of them all we usually do is get a whole bunch of liquor and meet people in the pool! There are not clubs really, maybe a bar there.. we are in- between st lucia and hawaii...

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
DH and I stayed at the Grande and were really happy we did. The Regency is nice too, but doesn't have much of a beach - the pool is big though.
Both places seemed to be like 90% people in their 20s/early 30s... maybe a little bit younger crowd at the Grande.
When we booked I spoke to someone at Sandals through their website, like a box pops up for live help which was great, and I didn't even say specifically St. Lucia, I just asked about any sandals what would be best for a honeymoon for people in their mid 20's and got the regency st lucia... We then asked our travel agent and she said the exact same thing... It looks awesome.... The best thing to do might be to get a room you like in your price range at any of the three they have and then you can travel to and from for different things... Also, wait till they have one of the 65% off sales... They have them every couple of months...

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
Hey we just booked Sandals Regency last week , did alot of research on tripadvisor.com and they seem to be pretty similar in terms of age group 20-30's. The beach at the Grande gets better reviews while the Regency has more Restaurants (7) and they got really good reviews. I'm not sure if either has a nightclub, but I do know the Regency has a late night bar which was said to be alot of fun. I read that there is a Friday night street party in town , which several couples gave good reviews to. We decided on the Regency because it was about a thousand bucks cheaper, we wanted to stay 11 nights, and we could just take the free shuttle bus to the Grande and use their beaches for the days that we wanted to go to the beach. You can then take the money you saved and do all of your tours. Both resorts got really great reviews and there is that 65% off sale going on now! We can't wait for our trip.

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
we're going to stay at the grande.. what i heard the difference is, is that the regency has the better restaurants, but the grande has more activities.. so thats why we chose to stay at the grande so we'll wake up early for the activities but just take the shuttle to the restaurants we want!
(ps i heard the grande restaurants are good too, but the ones you HAVE to go to are at the regency-- like the hibachi place)
hth! -- we haven't actually been there to give you our experience! lol

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
Ooooo, a date twin! We booked the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia. Leaving the 25th! The travel agent said that the Regency has more of a country club feel to it whereas the Grande feels more like a resort. I believe that the nightlife is better at the Regency. I know my cousins stayed there and loved it. For me though I wanted the Grande to get the full resort feel. Plus, you can go to either of the 3 resorts. Let me know what you decide!

Re: St. Lucia Honeymoon Help
Thanks girls for all the replies. I didn't get any emails letting me know I had any replies and was a lil bummed.
But then realized that I forgot to check the box to contact me when a new reply was posted... Silly me lol ..
All that info was really helpful.. We booked the Regency with our TA leaving the 26th, but can always change it once I do more research. *KRISD- almost HM date twins as well*
I heard that the beach at Regency can be rough but after searching for tons of pictures I never saw any wave bigger than a couple of inches..
Does anyone know what they mean by rough??
Thanks again you guys are great
