I am torn between Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia or Paradisus Playa Conchal in Costa Rica.....from pictures, the resort in Costa Rica is nicer, but we have heard wonderful things about Sandals....
Costa Rica is also cheaper by $1000 for nicer rooms, but since we don't know of anyone who has went to this resort, we are unsure what to do.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

We are going to St. Lucia and staying at Sandals. I hear that St. Lucia is ultra beautiful.
Is Costa Rica all-inclusive?

Yup...some of them....there were positive and negative reviews for each one. Some raved over Costa Rica and said it was the best trip ever and amazing honeymoon and others said that it was a waste of money
My girlfriend had her HM in Costa Rica...right next to a volcano. They were there for 2 weeks and LOVED it...its very romantic!

Yes, both are all inclusive. The only difference is that in Costa Rica, we get suites with stocked mini-bar refilled everyday if needed for $1000-$1200 less than Sandals mid-level room without stocked bar, etc.
But Sandals Halcyon has come highly recommended from our family members who went for their honeymoon.

The same was said of Sandals.....I don't know.
I think there is also an occidental in Costa Rica which is supposed to be awesome- look into that as well. My SIL went to sandals in st. Lucia and said it was great!

Costa Rica...Paradisus Playa Conchal is a 5 star resort. We were very close to booking that. My mom is a TA and she sends people there frequently and they LOVE it.
St. Lucia is nice too. My friend just did her HM in Sandals there (she did the Halycon and the Grand) and she said they were nice but the food is eh.
You definitely can't go wrong with a Paradisus resort.

Thank you....looking at the resort I am more inclined to book Costa Rica.....I am sure as long as there is a bed, pillow and towel I will be happy....
I just got chills thinking about the honeymoon!! I can't wait!

My friend booked Costa Rica for her HM and can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My other friend went to costa rica as well for HM and LOVED it!

This all makes me feel a lot better....my fiance was dead set on St. Lucia until I showed him the resort in Costa Rica....now he is fine with either. He thinks they are both beautiful.
I think so too, but two of my brothers and one of his went to St. Lucia Sandals for their resort. That is nice and comforting to know that they all loved it, but I want to break the mold a little and try something different
I think I might book Costa Rica, but I will talk to a travel agent first!

We went to St.Lucia it was beautiful we satyed at Sandals Regency ... everyone was very nice the food was good our room was beautiful but we went for 10 days ...too long .. there was not that much to do outside of relaxing and drinking and eating ...the excusions were rather expensive...i would say St. Lucia but only do 7 days ...a good friend of mine has been to Costa Rica several times it is beautiful , they are surfers as well but we are not super adventurous and Costa Rica is more for the adventurous types

i would go with costa rica....st lucia is not that far and you can probably take a trip there another time.. good luck choosing.

Thanks ladies....I will talk to my brother's friend who is a travel agent, get her opinion and go from there....I think it will be Costa Rica though

We just came back from St. Lucia I was torn between St. Lucia and costa Rica as well. The reason why we went with St. Lucia is because we didnt want to do much but relax and do very few excursions.. There is soo much to do in Costa Rica that I would hate to miss out on everything. St. Lucia was goregous very relaxing and easy going. We stayed in a private villa called villa des pitons managed by Oasis Marigot. I dont think you ca go wrong with either or. I am definately taking a trip to Costa Rica in the near future.
