St Martin/St Barths

Hi ladies-
I took a little break from liw and planning to de-stress. I was getting too crazy and hated that the wedding was consuming my life.

BUT-I'M BACK!!!!
Now onto planning the honeymoon....

We've decided on St Martin and maybe a day or 2 in st. barths.

Any suggestions on where to stay? what to do/see? restaurants?

Thanks girls. Always love the feedback

Re: St Martin/St Barths

I'm going to be in St Maarten for a day (cruise) for the first time so i've been doing my research.

looks like there are tons of great beaches to go to.

Here's the list of things i wrote down of possible activities for the one day we're there:

-- Shopping at Marigot Beach (Saturdays are Market Day)

-- Orient Beach (nude beach but you don't NEED to get naked, shops, rentals, etc). From what i understand, there's a section that's nude and another that's not so it's 'safe'

-- Go shopping on Front Street. While there, try the Guavaberry Colada (the liqueur is made from the Guava fruit, a tart berry). You can actually sample it for free at the Guavaberry shop.

-- Philipsburg's very walkable downtown is a definite duty-free shopping destination; great buys can be found on electronics, liquor (such as Absolut vodka for $5) and jewelry. There's also a small beach where you can rent chairs and umbrellas and several restaurants and bars if you are looking for a place nearby to hang for the day.

-- Cupecoy Beach, which has caves and rock cliffs, has lots of private nooks and crannies

-- Mullet Bay (good for a 1/2 day visit)

DISCLAIMER: i've never been there ... so if these places suck, don't blame me

we stayed on the dutch side at Sonesta Maho Beach resort, We are actually going back there in 2 weeks. Pool was great! Pool Bar was amazing! Food was good. Only downfall is the hotel has 3 restaurants...buffet, an upper scale restaurant, and the outdoor grill for lunch and dinner....but there were plenty of restaurants outside the hotel that we had vouchers for. The casino and shops are walking distance. I think there is even a supermarket around the corner in walking distance also. Definitely do the SUNSET CRUISE TOUR....amazing sites and soooooooo much fun!

Ive been to St. Maarten, and I def suggest staying on the DUtch side and traveling to the French side. We stayed at the Divi Beach Resort..its on its own private island...amazing!

At the resort we did these little like raceboats...similar to jetskiing but it was a little boat...2 per vehicle....sooooo much fun!!! seriously i suggest that.
