What type of music options do they have? Is it just organ?
No. They have a ton of different options from what I've heard so far. This saturday they are having a concert for couples. All of their wedding musicians are performing and you can write down which ones you liked the most and request them for your wedding. I don't have the paper anymore, but I think its at 11 or 11:30am. I would look into it!!!
thanks so much! I haven officially booked it yet...have to meet with the deacon on oct 12. I HOPE my date is available. Do u think they will be having this concert again?
i don't know if its like an annual thing or one time deal. i will try and find out. I would call the rectory and ask about it. It sounds really cool. (But I'm a musician and this part of the ceremony is REALLY important to me.) I do know that Father Tom told us to just go to weddings on the weekends there. You'll hear musicians and see decorations that will catch you.
We have St. Patrick's booked for our ceremony. They offer the Music planning session a few times a year. Since getting engaged in February this is the 2nd or 3rd music workshop they have had that i am aware of. According to the letter we got from them. It is Saturday, October 4, 208 at 11:30am to 12:30pm, in the church itself. It also mentions the next music workshop is planned for sometime in Mid-winter of 2009. They go on to say if you cannot make this Saturdays workshop or your wedding is before winter of 2009 it is your responsibility to contact the director of music, Mrs. Patricia Marfoglio at (631) 665-4911 ext 123. They also mention you have the option of choosing your ceremony music that day or wait to make your selections. I hope this helps you. We missed the last workshop so we will be attending this one.
Ditto, we were told by Father Cyril that they host these sessions quarterly and if you attend mass there they always notify you at least one week ahead of time. It is also posted in the church bulletin.
