Re: St. Patricks NYC!
Oh My God...I just called there today to see if we can have our ceremony there. They told me that you or your FH has to be apart of the New York Dioceses...I am part of the brooklyn and queens so I can't. One way around it is if you or your FH had a family member recieve a sacrament there. So is out for us...Unless money talks

Re: St. Patricks NYC!
I called and they told us that they weren't 'sure' if we could be married there because we are not 'friends of the church'. I wonder how much it costs to be a 'friend'?If you want to get married nearby, Im getting married in a much smaller church a few blocks away.

Re: St. Patricks NYC!
it's me - I am getting married there on the 9th of Nov. And it wasnt' easy. We had a dear friend with a good connection there, and sort of owed us a favor. - But it STILL wasnt easy even with a hand! They are extremely strict about everything - no runners, no flowers, no rice, no receiving line, no mendelsohns recessional march, no here comes the bride, no video, photographer can only stand in one spot. LOTS of rules. We are going through with it, but I can tell you that it hasn't been the warm and fuzzy feeling I think comes with other parishes. But I did TONS of research and I will tell you that none of the churches were extremely 'polite'! But it means a lot to my FI, and a lot to my family...the standard rules there are that you have to have parents that were married there (and still married) and that you have to have been a member of the parish for a bunch of years. Being a member of the parish anywhere is something that most of the Catholic churches in the NY area require by the way. Good luck!
