St. Rose of Lima

Anyone know any of their policies on aisle runners, outside musicians, petal toss? I'm trying to set up a meeting with the Deacon, but It's taking too long and I want answers now! LOL.

TIA!

Hi! Congrats! I'm getting married there next November. okay, so aisle runners are fine. from what I'm told, its the longest aisle on long island so you'll need to get the extra long aisle runner, 125 ft, I think. NO petal toss, no bubbles, no rice. only birdseed. I'm want to get sparklers, so I'm hoping that will fly with them. I'm not sure about getting outside musicians. I know that they have vocalists within the church and its included in the 'suggested' donation.

I have the booklet with all the info at home, so if you want more info, FM me what else you need answers to and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Who are you meeting with?

I'm meeting with Deacon Flood. Yuck--I hate the birdseed thing...maybe I'll do ribbon wands or something. How much is the 'suggested' donation?

I'm getting married there in March.

You'll most likely meet with Father Al to talk about getting married at the church. He isn't the best about getting back to people when you call - so you'll have to call back a bunch and really stay on top of it.

The aisle is 120ft not including the front waiting area of the church. You must provide your own runner. You are not allowed to throw petals in the church either.
No rice or petals allowed thrown outside the church. At pre cana we were told nothing that you could slip on on the steps.

Church costs $375, Singer $100, Organ $150.
You HAVE to pay for their musicians even if you bring your own musicians. They have an agreement with their musicians that they are guarenteed pay for each wedding at the church or something like that.

FM me if you have any other questions.

Yeah, I know! I don't want to be pelted with those stinky little things so I'm hoping they'll go for the sparklers. I was thinking of doing ribbon wands too, but it will be too dark to even see them....

The 'suggested' donation, including ceremony and music (organist and vocalist(s)) is $625. does not include Pre-Cana or Foccus.

FOCCUS is $25
Pre Cana is $75

Foodiequeen! I love that name! what's the background on it???

I called tonight to talk to my priest but he wasn't around. I'll be sure to let you know when I hear the 'yay' or 'nay' about the sparklers

I specifically asked him about the bubbles, when he told us no petals or rice. He said its a no go because it supposedly messes up the doors.

sigh....not that I was really planning on bubbles, but come on!

I know right? all these rules......I'm more upset about the no petals INSIDE the church. I'm having my flower girls carry pomanders instead......
