stacydz - aruba
hi, saw your question on the vendor board. I don't know if things have changed since the attacks, but I had been to aruba twice with a birth certificate (must be one with a raised seal) and did not have any trouble at all, same as if I would have had a passport!

Re: stacydz - aruba
I have been reading alot of travel books (from the travel agency) and they all say that you need a passport. I would check with your travel agent just to make sure.

Re: stacydz - aruba
I don't have a travel agent, booked directly through AA's website. I didn't think things had changed but wasn't sure. Also wasn't sure if things would be less of a hassle if you just had a passport. Deb, are you getting one?

Re: stacydz - aruba
I would contact AA directly and ask them. They would be able to help you with this. I was thinking of Aruba for our honeymoon and our travel agent told us that we needed a passport.

Re: stacydz - aruba
Hi Girls-I am going to Aruba also, (I can't wait...six weeks from taday we will be there
)You don't need a passport for Aruba (my sister and her husband went with just the Birth Certifidate and License)
My FH and I did actually get Passports, just because it is supposedly makes for easier travel.
I would reccomend getting Passports, the proccess itself is very easy. I am glad we did it.

Re: stacydz - aruba
stac- I wasn't planning on it, and I think it takes about six weeks so we'd be cutting it close. I probably won't get one, bc according to my travel agent you need just a license and birth certificate, and the two times I went this was fine! (same for the bahamas)

Re: stacydz - aruba
I went to Aruba on my honeymoon (in Oct of last year) and we didn't need a passport, we both showed our birth certificate with raised seal and our drivers license. Word of advice, make sure your plane tickets are in your maiden name because you won't have any photo ID with your new name on it yet!!

Re: stacydz - aruba
Hey girls...this is the response from Marie from M and M Travel that was on the Vendors Board. As long as you book your Honeymoon in your maiden name, a birth certificate with RAISED SEAL and government issued photo identification (driver's license) would be adequate proof of US Citizenship for travel to Aruba. Otherwise you will need your original marriage license or certificate also. Hope this helps! Marie at M & M Travel, Inc.
