Stainless or Non Stick

Original post by ajudgeinthecourt

Hey guys,

We decided to upgrade our pots! Which sets did everyone register for and why?

TIA!

Both! FH is the cook in the house and he uses both.
And FYI, non stick need to be taken care of well also! You can't use them if they are scratched, so never use metal utensils in them.

We already had a good set of stainless steel pots and pans so for the registry we put a few non-stick pieces on from the Calphalon Contemporary collection.

we registered for stainless. we have 2 non stick pans already and we will keep them but for the entire set i think stainless is best because you can use them on the stove and in the oven (if you get the metal handled ones)

Calphalon Unison Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

alot of stainless are not dishwasher safe and i can not be bothered having to hand wash the pans!!!!

ps i love my pans and pots- i want them asap!!

Re: Stainless or Non Stick

I would do a set of stainless and add a few nonstick items.

I would NOT doa whole set of nonstick because even the highest quality doesn't last long (They say this is because most people don't know how to properly condition the pans, but still). A good stainless set will last forever. We're registered for stainless and 2 nonstick frying pans since those will be the most used.

If you have high quality pans and use them properly, they will work as well as non-stick without the chipping, cracking, chemicals, etc, and will last forever.
