Stainless or Non Stick

Hey guys,

We decided to upgrade our pots! Which sets did everyone register for and why?

TIA!

Nonstick!!! Not that I cook much, but I don't want to have to scrub pots when I do!

I'm not a fan of stainless..I'm a non stick girl and rachal ray's pots and pans rock..u can even put them in the oven to cook as well

I was told to be careful with some of the non stick bc they should only be used at med to medhigh temps. Anything above poses health risks. If you're a big cooker, go stainless steel. That's what we got!

I'm a fan of both, just depends on what I'm cooking. While SS is a b*tch to clean, if you just spray a little cooking spray on before you cook, it should come off easy. FH is more of the cooker than I am, so I let him pick out which set he wanted, and he choose a non-stick

We generally use non stick. But if we are cooking something that requires high heat, then when use stainless steel.

you should have a little supply og both depending on what you are cooking...my husband to be is a chef so we have TONS of freaking pots lol

Re: Stainless or Non Stick

nonstick is not the healthiest option. stainless is the way to go, with a few nonstick here and there for things you really need nonstick for (like eggs!)

me and FH are cookers we actually both went to culinary school and have used stainless steel everything throughout school but we registered for a Emeril nonstick set and also have a bunch of stainless pots and pans as well!!!

If you cook a lot I would get the stainless steel. However, if you like things quick and easy def. non-stick!

All non-stick pots had to change the chemicals they were made with so all the pots in the stores now 'should' be safe to use!

I prefer SS. I just spray a little olive oil on it before I cook, and that does the trick with cleaning!

I had a bad experience with non stick in the past (it started to peel off, and they were good pots & pans!), so I only use SS now except for a griddle type piece

this! I also don't like nonstick because the materials bleed into your food. I only use nonstick for eggs! Plus stainless will last forever whereas the nonstick surface will flake overtime.

FH is the big cook in our house, and he chose the stainless steel. I'm keeping a couple of our old nonstick around just in case, but I forsee many burnt-on pots being washed in my future

I got both when it came to frying pans.

regular pots, stainless.

CRASHING! I LOVE my Stainless Steel pots BUT if you don't have a dishwasher they are the HEAVIEST pots known to man! I swear my muscles in my arms are going to be awesome after washing all these pots every night! ALSO, it's hard to clean the frying pan and you have to use a brillo pad to even get it to look fairly descent again.
