I dont like Teflon and I dont know if it is just b/c my mother has always used stainless and that is what I know how to cook on or what. But Teflon always seems to pit and peel and you can't use metal in them which I know FH will do. I know how often my mom replaces the teflon coated frying pans due to wear and tear.
Besides we both work with food all day and professional cookware is all stainless.

Re: Stainless or Teflon Coated Cookware
We registered for the Simply Calphalon line. It was a best buy on Consumer's Report so that is why we chose it.

We have had analon pots and pans and love them so we registered for a few more. You just dont use and sort of metal spoons or anything like that on them to scratch them.. All wood or plastic, they actually have their own utensils that we registered for

Re: Stainless or Teflon Coated Cookware
I registered for and already received the Calphalon Hard Adonized non-stick 10-pc set. I put on a few stainless pieces (5 qt saute pan, a 12' fry pan, and a 12-qt stock pot) so that I have a choice.

I registered for Stainless (AlClad) -- I wanted something durable and I liked the way it looked.
I never thought of Teflon but I remember watching (Dateline or was it 20/20 - a while ago) and they said that you have to be careful with Teflon something about if you are cooking on a high flame/temperature it gives off particles in the air that can be harmful.

I remember that it was called the 'teflon headache'.
