What is everyone doing that is sending their invites out soon? The response needs the new rate and the one post office I checked with so far said I could use a 34 cent love stamp and regular 3 cent stamp. What is everyone doing?

Re: stamps and rate change
I was told the new stamps will be out June 30. If you cant wait that long to send out your invites. Send out the RSVP with the new postage (even if you have to have 2 stamps) - most people will forget about the rate increase otherwise.

Re: stamps and rate change
The new stamps came out June 7th. I already have mine. They have the American flag on them.
Don't get the regular 3c stamp, it has an ugly old man on it!! They have a new stamp to add to the 34c stamp that looks like a shooting star in red, white & blue it's better than the reg. 3c.
I figured I might as well put on only one stamp. It doesn't matter to me if the response doesn't have the love stamp on it (would have liked it by it self though). No one is going to notice about the response stamp not matching, except me. If you haven't gotten the 57c love stamp yet you better get out there I hear they are in short supply! Good Luck

Re: stamps and rate change
I just sent mine out the other day, I used a 34 cent love stamp and a 3 cent stamp with a red white and blue star on it. (they didnt have the 37 cent love ones yet). I really wanted to use just the love stamp, but then I thought that the patriotism of the star was nice, so I got over it.

Re: stamps and rate change
I used the 55 love stamp for my rsvp's rather then 2 stamps. I know it is silly, but it only came out to an extra $25 or so.

Re: stamps and rate change
I have a different problem, we sent out our invites in May and the response have been slow and steady. With the rate increase coming up, what must we do now? Contact those guest that have not yet responded with a friendly reminder of the postage increase??? Our deadline is not until the end of the month. Would it seem pushy if we called and reminded our guest that if they mail their response cards after June 30th they must remember the additional postage??
Maybe that might put some pep in their steps. I will have to speak to my FI and see what he wants to do. I know for my friends and family its a quick phone call, with him he is such a procrastinator that he might not even contact his invited guest. Jeesh when will this end and we can get on to the good part

Re: stamps and rate change
Shamma,
I asked the Post Office what happens with response cards with 34 cent postage after June 30th, they said that depending upon the office, they might just let it go through. If you still dont hear from people after that though, I would call them to see if they are coming (like you need anything else extra to do at this point).
