Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
The ceremony starts at 11:30 and I put 11:30. I'm hoping that everyone realizes that they should arrive to a ceremony on time lol. Plus, I don't want to have them arrive earlier and wait around. Too early in the morning for that.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I put the time that it really starts - 4pm. If poeple are late then that's their own fault. lol. They won't be able to get into the chapel once the BP starts walking down...so thir loss. LOL

My wedding is at 11:30 as well but I think I want to put 11:00 on the invite. The CB has a welcoming station with cookies/pastry and coffee for early guests.
Besides a 1/2 hour isnt that long to wait and I truly think most ppl will be late!
Argh ..IDK what to do

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
3pm invite time, 3:30 actual start time.
Our caterer/maitre'd told us to do this.

If they have a welcoming station I think it wouldn't be that bad to invite people early. My RH greets guests with champagne and goodies but I don't want to mislead them and make them rush there for 11am. Then I can picture people getting there at 10:30 trying to be 'early' and waiting around for an hour, which is super misleading.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I stated the exact start time on the invitation. Why punish those who arrive on time by having them wait around?

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I put the time that my ceremony actually started. I'd say about 85% of the people attending came early anyway.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
ours starts at 11:30 but i put 11am since with the honor guard and all with the sabers i really don't want people arriving late and gtting in the way of pics. most of my family ends up getting everywhere late anyway. i think i'm going to tell RH not to let people to the ceremony if they arrive after 11:30.
I know total bridezilla moment(so not like me) but most of them have never been to a 'military wedding' and if they get in the way of certain must take pics i'm going to get reallyyyyyyyyyy pissssssssssseeeeeeeddd

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
My ceremony starts at 6:30, but I put 6:00 start time. The RH provides champagne to the guests during the wait. I understand both sides, but this was suggested to me, and I figured, why not. I just want to make sure everyone is there for the ceremony, and my friends are not always prompt. Nor are the Long Island roads always clear.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I put the correct time for the church but half hour early for the reception. I told those I KNOW will be on time that the invite is half hour early. My family is FAMOUS for being LATE!

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
As I have noted before, one of my biggest Wedding Day fears is walking down the aisle to empty seats!
I think I have to go with 11:00 for my own sanity. I never mind waiting for the bride so hopefully my guests will feel the same
