2:30 and 2:30. Wrong time invites are something I get so annoyed about!

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
5:00 PM is when our ceremony starts, but we're putting 4:30 PM on the invite -- our PRIEST recommended we do that!

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
our hall recommended we put 11 for an 11:30 ceremony ... but i felt this was too much for those that would arrive early than the stated time so i just put 11:15 instead

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I put the actual start time I thought it was kinda rude to assume people would be late and I feel like if they are late too bad for them cause I have been waiting my whole life to walk down that isle and nothing is going to stop me

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
Our ceremony starts at 7:30 pm but our RH also offers champagne upon arrival (we're doing Bellinis, my favorite!) and also passes cold canapes, etc. so we are putting 7:00 pm on the invite. I also do not want any late people, so this works best for us. You are in the same boat though, and since your RH offers a hospitality upon arrival, I would invite for half an hour before ceremony start time. HTH!

well, i dont think its all about being 'rude' ... sometimes things happen... traffic accidents, highways closed down... it would be nice to have a little bit of a cushion in case of these things...

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I have a long standing issue with this and I still dont know what to do. My ceremony starts at 11:30 and they recommended 11, but I really dont want people there earlier than 11 as we will be taking pictures before hand.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I put 11:00 for an 11:30 because I want to start at 11:30 so theerfore I want everyone all seated beforehand, so we don't run late!!! Plus there willbe cookies, pastries, etc for any early guests!!!

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
I know the RH told us to put on the invite a half hour before the ceremony is to start. Ceremony 6pm, 5:30 invite time.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
My ceremony starts at 1p and I will be putting 12, since 90% of my guests are family and close friends who have no concept of time.
For the people who have the deceny to show up to an event on time, I will let them now the real time it starts.

Re: Start Time vs. Invite Time?
Our ceremony is starting at 3, so that's what I'm putting on the invite. BUT I toyed with the idea of telling FH is started at 2, because then he would show up at 2:30. I decided to give him a little more credit on his wedding day than a normal day, and told him the actual time of 3. I'll get back to you in 10 months if that was a wise decision or not.
But my friend who is getting married next week put 5 on her invite, although ceremony starts at 5:30, but she's getting married at the RH.
