starter house?

starter house?

How long do people usually stay at their first house? I haven't even closed on the house but am thinking of my 2nd house!

I love the house- it just seems to be a lot of money for such a small house. So I have dreams about having 4 bedrooms and a separate living room and den.

Hi there. I know how you feel but with the housing market on Long Island most people I talk to are just glad to be in thier own house. Congrats on your closing. I was wondering what town your house is in.

We are in the process of buying our 'starter' house! Our thought is that we will be there for 5-7 years! But we bought a house that allows us to stay there longer(or forever) if necessary!

I think when people say 'starter house' they're thinking about five years. Many people never move or end up expanding that house. I think any house is great!

We planned on 5-7 years max in our 1st house and are now in our third year, wow time flies! We have paid off almost 1/2 of our mortgage so we 'might' be able to upgrade sooner...

We are actually in contract with our first house (very small). We are planning on staying there and just add on until the house is the exact way we want it. Next year we are expanding a little then we plan on in 3-5 years going up. We like the area and the school district, and the fact we got our house for such a good price doesnt hurt. Instead of buying a bigger house in a few years we are going to buy a condo down south. Hopefully.

My hubby has decided that he's ready to trade up now after 2 years. I just got the kitchen and bathroom that I've always wanted so I'm reluctant.
