I know a lot of people saw my last post about Angelica Glass, and now I have another complaint about vendors...
I don't know if I'm being unrealistic but...
I just tried to make an appointment at Flower Michele and they basically said they want me to wait until August. Meanwhile, they called me soliciting an appointment over a month ago for this drawing they are running.
I'm going into my third year of law school, and I want to get my planning done ASAP because I don't need the wedding stress over my head as I begin studying for the bar exam/running a journal/going to school and working!!! Why are they making me wait?!?!

Re: STARTING TO GET REALLY ANNOYED...
Did you tell them you were solicited by them months ago?
I'd say you're looking to book now and aren't available in August. If they don't want to give you an appointment, there are PLENTY of great florists out there who would probably be willing to talk to you now.
I understand some vendors don't like to book too far in advance -- but a year and a month really isn't that far in advance!
Good luck! (And good luck in law school, too!)

Re: STARTING TO GET REALLY ANNOYED...
Did they mention why? When I started to look for florists they mentioned that I might want to come in May so I can see what was in season around the time of the wedding. I don't think its a huge deal, but since we had some time I figured i might as well wait. I am glad I did because we ended up going with Cherry Blossoms centerpeices, which are only in bloom for three weeks and I got to see a sample made up exactly how it will look next year. But if you just tell them your situation they should really be accomodating....

I totally understand where you are coming from. I hate vendors who will put you off like you are just another knotch on the old belt. I don't bother booking with vendors like that because IMO it shows that to them your wedding is just another event. I want someone who I know I can rely on. I have heard great things about Flower Michelle so if you are stuck on them I think you should call them back and let them know your position and tell them if they don't want to accomodate you you will take your business elsewhere. Good Luck!

Re: STARTING TO GET REALLY ANNOYED...
why don't you check out other florists in the meantime. i had to wait a month to get an appointment with flower michelle. i have another florist lined up for late july. i guess it's just a really busy season for them. this is a popular time for weddings. i'm sure there's a lot to do, especially in preparation for the weekends. good luck!

Re: STARTING TO GET REALLY ANNOYED...
That's really weird...maybe they did want you to see what is blooming in August? I was planning to start looking at florists next week, including Flower Michelle, so we'll have to see what they say...I was actually in their shop the other (b/c I went to the wrong Patken location for a photo appointment...opps, that one was closed). I walked in just to peak and I say exactly what I want for my centerpiece out on their table...so I already have a soft spot for them.
BTW, FH and I are both lawyers, so I feel your pain on the bar. I can't believe you are getting married a month after the exam! It's really not as bad as we make it on ourselves though...just stay relaxed and it will be a breeze. Are you summering anywhere now?

Re: STARTING TO GET REALLY ANNOYED...
Actually a few vendors made me wait to come to set up an appointment they do it so their prices are fair typically and in range to what they know they can give you. Being that your wedding is not till aug of next year that is why they are asking you to come back in aug since they can get the right floral prices. they can't really go on last aug. prices since it so close to the current one.
People who are locked in to prices before their season is around (month) typically pay higher or get less flowers. I have talked to a few friends who told me this. There are places who just get such great deals because of bulk buying but i have heard they also skimp out on your day of flowers due to pricing jumping.
I would check them out again... i think if they called to make an appointment a month ago and changed their mind now is kinda messed up but i only booked with FM because of rep and amazing quality and i personally think they are worth a second chance. I could of gone with family in the business and paid a bit less but they weren't as good to be honest.

LA Blossom is the best... that's insane to be told to wait no matter what the reason... I know this is a busy time of year for them being wedding season and all. But I get why you want to get bookings over with and they should accomodate you! Call LA Blossom!!

Try going to other florists, you shouldnt wait unless you dont mind waiting. Try Pedestals, I dont think they will make you wait that long
