So I emailed my STD magnet to one of my BM's and she said a year is way too far in advance to send them out. But as I mentioned before it is a holiday weekend, and it is recommended to send them that far in advance. But she said maybe I should send out something at 6 months as well, like a reminder? Did anyone think of doing this? I don't think its such a bad idea. And vistaprint is doing postcards for free now. Or do you think the postage on its own is a big waste of money?

sorry, your friend is wrong
it is not too early - especially on a holiday weekend
besides, these days people use STD's as engagement announcements too

A year is fine..And you don't need to send another thing out at 6 months..That will be silly..Like...hey..please Come..Don't forget..A little UN necessary

I did it on the year mark and i guess i could of waited but i never made a formal announcement of the engagement so i included that. I don't think its wrong to send them out a year in advance espec. since its a holiday weekend.

if its a holiday weekend then it is a year in advance...Honestly, most people dont know alot of things about weddings so alot of people will probably feel like that...You can do a search on this and youll find the answer, then send it to her and show you were right lol

here i found an article and it says for holiday weekends send it out 9-12 months ahead of time....Go send it to her lol

i agree a year is good especially for a holiday weekend. People that are planning vacations are going to start planning about 9 months in advance. YOu want to make sure you get your STDs out before people book vacations



I am definitely sending mine out a year in advance b/c mine is in Hawaii. People need time to plan

Hmmm.... what if you STD is seasonal? I want to send fall-y STDs and I think that would look odd sending in April. I could send non-theme related ones but I really like the fall magnets.

i agree i would def. do a year in advance. plus, if you get a magnet ppl will just put it on their fridge so you wont even need to send a reminder.

I thought STD's were suppose to be mailed out a yr in advance. I think it is good to give them advanced notice especially since you are getting married on a holiday weekend. Don't listen to your friend!!

I agree!!!! I'm doing mine a year in advance...I don't think you need to send out another one 6 months before.

your wedding is memorial day weekend..you should do them at least a year in advance..thats like the offical start to 'going away for the weekend' weekend
