STD: Addressing envelopes

STD: Addressing envelopes

Sorry I like to ask the same questions over and over again... when addressing STDs, if you are inviting a person who isnt married and doesn't have a boy/girl-friend to the wedding, do you address the STD with a guest or just to the person?

ex: Ms. Rachel Green or
Ms. Rachel Green & Guest

Also, if you are inviting a family that lives in the same house, however 2 of the kids are over 18 and should be invited to the wedding with a guest,do they get their own STD or can i address is to the whole family?

Lastly, if i send a STD or ibvite to a family, which is the right way to address the envelope (i asked this yesterday on BHB but can't find the post)

Mr. & Mrs. Chandler Bing & Family or
The Bing Family

MANY MANY MANY THANKS

For your first q - I will be doing:
Ms. Rachel Green
(I don't think it's necessary to address a guest on the STD if it's an unknown person, JMO)

For your second q - I will be doing:
The Geller Family
(This is if all people in the household are invited, regardless of guests or no guests)

For your third q- again if it's the whole family I would address it
The Bing Family

However, these are JMO's... I have no idea what the etiquitte is with this stuff. I'm doing what makes sense to me and what i'm comfortable with. I have a very laid back approach with the STD's (probably the only thing I'm like that about)

Which, speaking of, I just realized my STD's will be arriving tomorrow!

Re: STD: Addressing envelopes

i love how you are using names from friends!!! lol i love friends!!!

when i did my STD i only sent it to the person without putting guest...when i send the invitations i am going to put guest on that...and i also only did one per household so if everyone in the house was getting invited even if some where getting invited with a guest i still only put The Green Family

i did something similar.
i kept it very simple for the std. come to think of it i used the same labels i use for xmas cards.lol
i did it this way because i feel std arent that formal.

when i do my invites it will be very formal

Re: STD: Addressing envelopes

I think I will put a guest only if their name is known (and in that case I will put their full name on the invite as well).

AS for the third question, I personally don't think a man's name should be there over the woman's, so I think I will be doing Mr. & Mrs. Smith as opposed to Mr. & Mrs. Tom Smith. However, I think 'etiquette' calls for the latter option.
