Re: STD and room blocking help :)
Just so you know, many hotels don't have you pay up front for blocking rooms. My hotel is holding 15 rooms and if they are not booked by 1 month prior to the wedding than they go back into circulation. No charges whatsoever.

I'll be sending out my STD's in september as well (duh we're date twins). The hotel will give you a piece of paper letting them know that you've blocked rooms to put in with the STD's. I'm just going to include that with the STD's

Thats a good idea...
but just to give you an idea..you can book the block and have no obligation.....for them to be used and you can book as many as you want...20, 30, 40 rooms whatever you 'd like...
We are sending them out with our invites....the hotel gave us slip ins...and at that time guest can call and block...just an idea.

that does stink, you should pick a different hotel where you don't have to do that. Most of them do not require a down payment or whatever it is called

ohh I see, well then that is different. I'm surprised the place you're getting married at would have a rule like that? You would think they'd accomodate to you since you're having your wedding there. Maybe you can sweet talk someone
