STD clueless!!!

STD clueless!!!

I am clueless about doing STD's. I figured we wouldn't do it and if I mentioned it to my parents they would think I was just coming up with an extra expense for no reason. Surprisingly my mom mentioned that I might want to do them, so I'm thinking its a definite yes. SOOOO....

How far in advance do I send them out? The wedding is June '05.

Do we send some hotel info with them? We have some out of towners, but we also have a lot of party people that we would hope would stay out by the reception. Our wedding is at Giorgio's in Baiting Hollow, so we're also hoping that the Nassau people will want to stay out in a hotel instead of leaving early to make the drive back home.

I can't think of any other questions, but if you have some advice or anything, please let me know!! Thanks!!

I believe save the dates should be sent 1 year to six months before the wedding. I wanted to include hotels in mine, and hotels typically don't block rooms more than a year in advance. My Save the Date I just posted it today.

Re: STD clueless!!!

I sent mine out the beginning of February. I also included our hotel info with them. I think you should send them anywhere from 8 months to a year before. Too far and people might forget. I was supposed to send them out in January but getting address together was harder then I thought. I figured that in January everyone was getting new calendars so they could put our wedding right on

they dont have to be expensive either.. you can print them up yourself for little and they can still look professional.. stores like staples and michaels sell invitation kits that you can use...
