STD Etiquette

A few STD questions...

1. How far in advance do you send them out?
2. When sending STD to a single person do you also write 'and guest' or do you save the 'and guest' part for the formal invitation?
3. FH and I do not live together, whose name and address do we put on the return address?
4. Is it improper to hand write STD addresses, or should they be printed up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

6-8 months. However, I think we will be sending them 1 year since we have family coming from California. FH and I also live separately but we put Roseann and Joseph with his mailing address. The rest of the questions I'm not able to answer, but I'm sure they'll be answered soon ;)

STD Etiquette

RoandJoe is right about the norm being 6-8 months, I'm sending mine at 8 months because we have a few OOT guests but not that many. I'm not much help with the return addresses since FH and I live together, I bought a stamp that says 'Alyssa & Richard' with our address. It's something that we will still be able to use after the wedding.

As far as handwriting goes, I hadn't even thought of that! I was planning on handwriting them myself and didn't really think about it! I would love to hear other opinions on this.

1. We just ordered ours and intend on mailing them out as soon as we get them back. By the time we get them we will probably be sending them out 10 months in advance. I feel the earlier the better and we do have a decent amount of OOT guests.
2. We are not sending them with an 'and guest', we plan on saving that for the formal invitation.
3. FH & I live together so we have both our names on the labels.
4. I don't think it is improper and I think it is a matter of personal preference. We will be printing them on labels but to each their own, there is no right or wrong!

I heard 6-8 months and I will be mailing at 7 months.

I would only write to the single person unless it is a married couple or couple living together that you are sure they aren't splitting up anytime soon! I would put the address you are going to use for your invites so it all matches. I would print ones at home! you can make them look really nice

Thanks girls! I think I will print the addresses at home and FH and I can decide which address to use for the return address.
