if you have out of town guests who you know are most likely not going to come.. but its only right to send an invite anyway,... do you still send them a STD?

I have this problem. We send our STD's out....but some of the people we sent them to, I KNOW arent coming. My family is from ohio and most of them are coming...but when you get into the neighbors, ppl i grew up with but lost touch with, etc....i really dont want to send them an invite b/c i feel it will just be wasteful...More $$$ that we dont have.
Can the STD serve as kind of like an announcement? or do i have to send them an invite now because i sent them a STD?
This is so tough...if i have to send them invites, we will have to order like 200....miz! :(

im planning on it..some of my family has never flown before, and i doubt they'll start now at 80 years old..but they're still getting a std

I did. My dad told me that even though they are most likely not coming, we need to include them anyway because if they talk to someone else who did get a STD, they might be angry.
