STD's and kids

Here's a question...

can you put on your save the date cards that it will be an adult reception or something else that implies that your guests should 'plan ahead and get a babysitter'? My e-party is going to be very informal and I don't care if people bring their kids b/c we're going the cheap way on it - it'll be at my parent's house and we'll BBQ, get hero's or pizza or something just so we can finally announce our date - we've been engaged a long time.

I just don't want it to be too much of a shocker when people get the invites and think that they're gonna 'bring the family'. I can't afford to pay for everyone's kids and there'd just plain be too many of them. As I said in another posting - I may as well have my wedding at Chuck E Cheese! I'm actually considering a wine vineyard and I don't really think 'KIDS' when I think of a place like that.

We're also having a no kids reception. I thought about putting it on the STD but didn't know how to do it without it seeming rude so what we did was put our website address on the STD. When people go to the website (I'm assuming that the people who have young kids are also young enough themselves to know how to use the internet ), in the 'events' section where it gives info on the reception, it says '**Unfortunately, we will not be able to accomodate any children at the reception. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.'

That is funny!

Great idea about the wedding web site with the apology about not being able to accomodate children. I think I'm gonna use that too. It's such a sensitive topic to some people.
