I LOVE this. I wanted either a mariachi band, but I like the steel drums soooooo much better.
If you are doing this, who are you using and how expensive is it?
Now, I gotta convince FI. Apparently, he thinks it won't fit with the 'no theme' wedding we are having!! TOO BAD!

I am having a steel drum player at cocktail hour. Jot sur of the separate price because we got it added in with our dj project. Check out after hours. They also offer a 3 piece or a full band

I'm going to be only a little help because i dont remember the name of the company....but i got a quote for a 3 piece group of steel drums or my hour and a half cocktail hour and it was i think $850

I wonder how mobile my propspective one man steel drumist would be. It would be kinda cool to have him at cocktail and then just before everyone makes there way into the ballroom, he could set-up there greeting the guests as they walk into the ballroom.
Maybe this will be too much for him! But, doesn't hurt to ask when I find someone!!

I met with In the Mix DJ last night and their steel drum price for cocktail was like $750 - we really wanted it but that was just too pricey for us.

No problem. I also saw that there's a mariachi band that can run from 125-2000.
