Stemware and registry

Stemware and registry

I am registering for Waterford stemware (Lismore pattern)...but there are so many different types of glasses.

Can anyone give me suggestions or share what type (goblet, champagne, claret, port, etc..my head is spinning from all these choices) and how many of each you registered for. One woman was telling me that with some glasses you should register for 12, and with other, less 'used' glasses, you should only register for a few.

Help!

Re: Stemware and registry

I registered for the Waterford Lucerne stemware. I ordered 12 goblets (for water & red wine), 12 wine, 12 champagne & 12 rock glasses.

I think however, you can get away with ordering less champagne & rock glasses.

I registerd for the same! I guess that's all I can say because I'm not clear on it either, I just let the shop do it all.
The only thing to be careful of would be if you break a glass, it would be nice to have an extra one bought in case they discontinue your pattern and you stuck with uneven glasses. just something to think about.

Re: Stemware and registry

I registered for the Lucerne Waterford glasses.

We registered for 12 wine, 12 goblets, 12 flute, 12 water, 12 balloon/magnum, we also registered for the highball, old fashioned and brandy also 12 of each. We figured we will just buy or not get whatever we are not given.

We got 6 wine, and 2 flutes and 4 ice water for our e-party. So we figure we will probably get those - and maybe buy the goblets - I am less concerned with getting the ballons and the other barware.

Actually we got half of our vera wang place settings so we are actually excited for after the wedding to use everything.

kathy the Lismore glasses are beautiful - great choice.

I registered and received 12 wine and 12 goblet. Then I got plain (cheaper) glasses from Crate & Barrel (12 white wine, 12 red wine & 12 champagne). I didn't get the specialty glasses but will probably buy some rocks glasses in the future... brandy/port, etc.. who really drinks these things? and if so- do you really need (or have room for) the special glass?
