Step Father Question

Step Father Question

My father passed away when I was 18 and my mom remarried a couple of years later. I have a good relationship with my step father. My mom is going to walk me down the aisle and I will probably dance a song with her. Should I also dance with my step father. If so, any song recommendations? I don't want anything too emotional - I don't want to take away from the memory of my father.

Thanks girls.

Re: Step Father Question

I dont know if I personally would do a dance with my stepfather, but that is just me. Im weird like that. I just feel that no one in the would but my real dad should have that honor.

However....

If you do have a close relationship with your stepdad, and you really want to do a dance with him, I'm sure he would be honored! I would dance to a generic non-sappy song like 'Isn't she Lovely, by Stevie Wonder or Brown Eyed Girl (If you have brown Eyes, of course!)

Re: Step Father Question

Are you close with your Step-Father?
I think that would be a nice thing to do.

Re: Step Father Question

Well, I didn't have this problem, but my DH kind of did. His father passed away when he was 18 as well and he is close with his step mother, in fact, closer than with his actual mother, and he was pressured into just dancing with his mom, not his step mom and he regrets it now. So think it out.

And I like the ideas of SIBride of songs, Brown Eyed Girl is really cute.

Re: Step Father Question

I am having the same problem, I cant find a song either. I am close with my stepdad and I was even when my real dad was alive. Yet, I still dont want anything sappy.
