Step Mother Gift

So, my FH step mom has been such a GREAT help. She is super excited for us and going out of her way. I want to to get her something really nice. I know that there are a pair of earrings that she really likes, do you think I should get them and give them to her a little early just to thank her for all of her help? I do know that I am getting my mom, my fmil, and the step mom all handkerchiefs. Is that enough? Should I get them something else? I was thinking about buying them all photo albums as well. Do I just tell them that? Write it in the card? Also, are the bride and the groom supposed to get all the parents gifts separately (a gift from me and a gift from fh) OR do we give them together? I don't know how this all works!
