Step parents

FH has step parents.

his mother is remarried (love her husband!!)
His father is remarred (we ARE NOT close with either at all.. they live in FL)

so my quesiton is.. how are you handleing step parents...

1. introductions: i guess we introduce them both as couples one after the other?

2. What should i do for tuxes - i was thinking of having FH's step dad and my dad wear the same tux and shirt etc as the BP. should i include FH's bio dad in that? but hes in FL?

3. CHURCH - walking down the aisle. all 3 sets of parents would walk down right?

Adding a question,

For invitations do you put your step parents name on it? My mom passed away and my dad remarried. I dont know how to word my invitations.

this all gets so confusing.. why do they have to get divorced haha

anyway.. for our eparty invites we didnt put parent names.. we did the parents of GIna and James invite you. so i think that is what we are going to HAVE to do for our wedding invites

Ohh nice! I'm going to FH, I have a feeling FH's mom will be sad that her name isnt on the invite but she should understand.

I'm in the same boat more or less. FHs parents are both remarried. Both 2nd husbands & wives are great and he gets along with both wonderfully. But I still haven't figured out the logistics of everything either. I will be having both couple introduced one after another at the reception I know that. FH's mom and step-dad first, then dad and step-mom. Don't know about walking down the aisle....maybe the same thing....?
And invites, I want to honor everyone (& their financial contribution-tacky but true) but I just feel like that's waaaaay too many names on one invites.
so, I feel your confusion.

Oh, and the tuxes, all the 'dads' will be in tuxes. But in that case my situation is a little different than yours because there's no strain in any of the relationships.....I would say include biological dad in w/the tuxes, but I don't know the finer details of the strain.....so I don't know....

I thought I had it bad with him just having a step-mom lol, his mom just got divorced for a 2nd time now so I don't need to include his step dad ... But I think his dad should be included, maybe ask him to get measured down in florida and then you can order the tux for him ?

It's really up to you and FH. If you don't want all of them walking down the aisle you don't have to have it. I'm going to have both of my parents walk me down the aisle. I don' t know about FH's mom and step father. I'm sure they will want to. Doesn't matter to me. His mom and dad divorced when he was really young and she remarried. He has since passed. If you only want your parents going down the aisle it's up to you. Don't go by what the standard is or what other people say. Do what you want. If you don't care either way, ask them what their preference is.
