I am actually helping out a friend at work that is recently engaged.
Has anyone been to an event or know anything about Sterling Caterers?
TIA

Yes, I hope no one is offended when I say this...
But I went to an event there last year and it was awful. Food was cold, and not tasty...FH and I went to gino's after.

I went to a Sweet 16 there this year and I wasn't super-impressed. I've had better food/service at places like a Knights of Columbus or an Elks Lodge.

I went to a consultation with them. Barry (the BM) is REALLY nice but they will do 2 weddings at once...and if you do a package deal you have no choice on vendors and they will NOT take any money off if you don't want to use a vendor. Bathrooms were icky and dark and I personally wasn't impressed. I never got as far as the food though so I don't know how good it is. But I'd say if you can go with something else....do so.

Re: Sterling Caterers in Bethpage
we had our e-party there (pics in my album). i personally wouldnt have a wedding reception there - its just not as nice for that. but everything was great - we had no complaints from anyone - everyone raved about what a great time they had.
the food was great, they did mess up our balloons and i made them take them down, but we had flowers there - so it was okay. But overall for a party it was great!!! and the house DJ was very good.
we had all our desserts brought in from an italian pastry shop.
but like i said i think its more of a place for a party (eparty , sweet 16) not for a wedding - its very mirrored and gold and they have a bunch of parties going on at one time.

I went there to look for the wedding wasn't impressed. we had decided to go with a different hall then two weeks later i got a call from barry and he wanted to know if had made a decision yet about our wedding and when i told him that we decided to go somewhere else he was like why are you going with them. i didn't like that he was questioning my decicion about the hall i want. *sorry can't spell that good
