So my brother lives in fl and will be coming home for my e-party, along with my niece and his wife. Fh wants to ask my brother to be in the bridal party since I'll be having his sil who Ive become quite close with. Now here's the problem I HATE my brothers wife it's a long long story so I won't get into it but she's a piece of garbage and shows my family no respect at all. My niece who is nine about to turn ten is her little mini me. She is so nasty to my mother and myself and my brother does nothing to stop it which is an even bigger issue. I'm fine with fh asking my brother to be in the wedding party and this may sound terrible but I don't particularly want my niece involved in our wedding and definitely not his wife. I was raised to never disrespect my grandparents aunts uncles whoever. Fh's newborn nefphew is going to be the RB so I sorta feel obligated to have my niece also my godchild as a jr bridesmaid or something. My mom says I shouldn't it sad that we have next to no relationship with her and every time they come up to visit its absolutely miserable. My brother may be on the verge of divorce he changes his mind every other day it seems like but if they were to divorce I know we'd never see that kid again. I don't want to upset my brother by not including her but at the same time he doesn't seem to care about how much the two of them upset us. HELP

Re: Sticky situation
thanks so much girls for all your respones. It makes me so sad that i never really gained a sister and it makes me beyond nuts that my brother just lets the disrespect go on and on. They've been married 9 years and I'm getting to the point where I can't keep quiet about her ******** anymore. My own niece doesn't even call me aunt kristen. when i confronted my brother about it his excuse was that she doesnt call my SIL's brothers uncle or their wives aunt. Well i dont care whhat they do with HER side but hello im his only sister and he doesnt care if she doesnt call me aunt kristen? not to mention im her god mother. but seeing all your respones makes me feel a lot better about not including them

I agree do what feels right for yourself, its ur day not theres...I have a similar issue, i never see my cousins, probably havent seen them in 2 years and my mom wants to add them in the bridal party, but then again i havent seen them nor am I close, plus they are extra i dont need anymore....some of us are in similar situations...just breath and do what you want...im waiting another couple of months before I ask all my bridemaids, so far i only asked my maid of honor but that wasnt even a question for me to debate about. Do what you think is right!!
This is all a bunch of bs...its your wedding day and you shouldn't feel obligated to anyone. I am so super irritated because my FH did not ask my brother or brother in law cause he's not close to either of them and my mom and sister are pissed. Truth be told I could have made FH do it but I don't think they should be, cause my sister lives in Georgia and they have met only twice. I don't get along with ny brother so y should he be in the bridal party, its stupid and its our day and our choice. Go with ur gut

I also agree with everybody else. ask your brother, and let the B!t@% sit on the sidelines with your neice. My one concern is, are you having a dais, or is the BP going to sit at tables with there dates? then it could get ugly. but all in all. do what is right, abd DON'T STRESS OVER THIS!!!

I'm going to have all the bms sit with their dates at a table, all my girls have boyfriends that arent going anywhere so i wouldnt want them to have to seperate
