Sticky Situation....with poll

Sticky Situation....with poll

FH has a friend from college who he never speaks to, and admits that he will never have a lasting relationship with. However, he went to this friend's wedding (seven years ago I might add) and this 'friend' is coming to FH's bachelor party.

When our addressed invitations came in 3 wks ago, I asked FH if he truly wanted this guy to be there.....we are on a budget after all.
FH said.... I'm not sure. Hold it back for 2 days, and let me think about it.

Well, low and behold, I was just organizing and found it....we both forgot about it. I haven't gotten back any replies from FH other friends who are all real close with this other 'friend' and I am paranoid that that is why....

I panicked and told FH....we forgot about this. He panicked and told me to make the final decision.

WHat do I do? PLease answer the poll I know that option 2 is cheezy and dishonest but whatever.

Just mail it out. I wouldn't even give him an explanation. What you could do is nonchanontly (huge sp) tell one of those friends that know him that you were cleaning out your car and found 20 banded invitations that fell out of the box in the back seat. You know you drive like a lunatic I really don't know such a thing but it's a good excuse!

The same exact thing happened to me. I had FH call the guy (who we like, but are just not close with anymore; I have no idea when or IF we will see him in the next 5 years!) and say that there had been a mix up with invitations, and we just came across a few that did not get mailed with the others. We said that I thought he had mailed them and he thought I had mailed them. I freaked out about it, but in the end it worked out absolutely fine, the guy can't make it anyway, so no harm done. Don't worry!

I think I would just mail it...In fact, I would step on the envelope, crumple it a bit and bend the corners. Hey, don't think I am crazy...He might think that it was lost for a while and tossed around!!!

I'd just send it, and if you feel like you need to explain, use the wrong address excuse. Although I love the crumple it up, step on it and pretend that it got mangled by the post office idea!

You know, I don't think the other people you invited who are friends with this guys aren't responding because he hasn't gotten his invite yet. It's probably because they're guys and guys are terrible with sending back RSVPs...that's why they have women to do it for them!!

I would send it- especially since he's going to your FH's bachelor party, he's a guy and probably won't even realize the invite is late.

Mail it-tell him a few of the invites got sent back by the post office. I would call first and tell him it's in the mail.
