Still have not found a reception place!---LONG

I'm going absolutely crazy! I have been engaged for four months now, and still have not found a place that my fiance, my parents and I like. I know it sounds funny that I have included my parents, but since they are inviting a lot of their friends and my relatives and immediate family are all coming from CA, I have to think of them too. My fi and I have seen some nice places, one that we both loved---DeSeversky---but they can't do sit down dinners for the amount of guests that we may have! Also, since a lot of our guests are from CA, I don't even know if they will all come, so I don't even know for how many people I should be planning a wedding for!!!! I'M GOING CRAZY!!!!

NOW, my parents think that a NYC wedding would be better than LI, since a lot of their guests can also see NYC....I've seen a few places in NYC, but there is not a 'chit chat' site/board for NYC weddings for me to bounce ideas off of brides from NYC!!!! Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.....thanks for letting me vent!!!! I think that I really want to elope!!!AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

They will probably tell you the nature of the problem and whether or not it is resolved if you pay them a fee for the complete report. Before getting upset about the complaints you need to know how many they are, what time frame they cover and then put that in perspective with the number of clients they have. The more clients a company has, the more complaints you can realistically expect them to have.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYONE'S RESPONSE!!! I will definetely look into the suggestions that people made. Some of the places I have heard of before, and some I have not.

Jenny B, I would love to get married where Steve and I got engaged (New Paltz), but they have a very informal setting, and we are looking for a formal setting.....and to top it off, my parents think that one hour from the city would be difficult for people, who are flying in from out of state, to get to!!

I actually went to my cousin's wedding two weekends ago at Flowerfield. It was really beautiful, but since it was a wedding in the family, I don't want to have it there. The food and service were excellent!

Thanks Jill for letting me know about Otto Kahn having rennovations done. That saves me a lot of time!:-) Also, in terms of De Serversky, they do sit down dinners for max 120 people for about 175-180/pp.
