Still haven't found a RH!!

Still haven't found a RH!!

I need help. I think I am being too picky with the venues I go see. Here is a little info on the wedding. We are having an traditional indian wedding so the guest count is a little over 500 invited. I am looking for a venue that can accommodate 400-450 knowing that not all 500 are going to show up. We want to have a place where there is a view of NYC and are finding it hard with this number of guests.

These are the places I have been too so far

Bridgewaters ( diner n dancing would be in separate rooms)
Studio Square
Hyatt in NYC and in Long Island ( seems very practical)
Marriott in LI
Hilton in Li
Terrace on the park ( not sure about the seating arrangements)
Stage 6 at Steiner studios
583 park ave
The palace at somerset place ( really like this place)
East Wind caters
Leonard
Capitale ( going there next week)

We need the venue to have a separate ceremony site. We thought about having the ceremony at a different location but it ends up costing a lot more. Any suggestions to venues would help!!! The budget would be around 180 pp,,,hopefully including taxes n grat. July or August of 2011

What about Russo's on the Bay?

Also, if you're willing to give up the NYC skyline, check out Crest Hollow Country Club.

They have a ball room that accommodates up to 750 I think? They'll definitely work within your budget. My price comes to about $113pp with tax and grat for a Friday night in November.

HTH!

East Wind can def accomodate u, the only thing is that it's located in Suffolk and not in Manhattan, The place is gorgeous and although they hold for than 1 wedding, it doesn't even seem like u're getting married at the same time than another couple

not sure how many it holds but what about 3 West Club

it overlooks St. Patricks Cathedral...gorgeous view!

they have a separate ceremony area, separate CH and ballroom and a sitting room...outdoor patio area for CH

also check this company called Kool Events.... they are a free wedding planning company in NYC....email them they are amazing! it literally costs you NOTHING and they will contact places for you and make all the arrangements for appointments and they even give you discounted rates

I used them when I was planning a wedding in NYC(we ended up changing our minds) but they were awesome! and they know so many places you would never even think of!

FM if you have questions

Try russos on the bay.

A lot of the ones you listed don't have a view of the NYC sky line!! So if that doesnt matter you def. have a nice amount of choices on LI

Russo's doesn't allow outside catering. We would have to use their in house indian food menu. I'm not sure if we would be okay with that.

3 west club doesn't accommodate 400 people =-(

While East wind does have the space for the reception.. the ceremony space is the problem. We could use the reception space for the ceremony but I don't want the ceremony and reception in the same space.

We don't need to have a view of the city..Its just we would love to if we could!

EW's Grand ballroom fits 1000 people. How come you can't use half of the room for ceremony, and the other half of the room for the reception?

If you really want a NYC skyline, head to New Jersey which is just over the bridge. There is a Westin in Jersey City and a Hyatt I believe. Try this site for NYC locales. I LOVE traditional Indian weddings and can't wait to see your elements come together.

Along these lines... if you're not opposed to Jersey, check out The Liberty House in NJ. It's gorgeous and has great views of NYC, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty

I've checked out Hyatt in Jersey City. The balroom that would accommodate 400 people doesn't face the skyline. I'll check out the marriott. Thanks!
Just checked out Liberty house. Website says it can accommodate up to 330 guests.
