Knights of Columbus type places?

I know my cousins rent out a firehouse somewhere in the Bellmore area. It's actually pretty cool. Makes for fun pics too!

with the firehouse idea.. it works but be prepared to work your *** off.. im not sure the reason for bringing you own food and alcohol.. for us my mom is like a caterer (i say like because she is italian so every meal can feed 100 people).. so she always insists on making everyythingg which is good but at the end of the day with all the stuff you buy to make it all nice and pretty you can have it out... and then after when you just wanna go home and open presents you have to clean up everyything yourselves.. atleast thats what i have found..hth..
im sorry if this sounds negative.. diy parties really do turn out to be exactly the way you want them..and many i have had/ been too are the best (my own sweet sixteen, my cousins wedding, christenings, showers..the list goes on) if you have a good support system acka people that will help you bust your *** like setting up tables.. then def do it.. GOOD LUCK let us know what happens...

I feel like bringing your own food and alcohol to a place would just cause so much uneccessary stress... you might as well just have it in your backyard.... which could be totally fun but at this point, you'd have to wait until spring so the weather warms up a bit.
If you're looking for something cheap, try the Irish Coffee Pub in Bay Shore... very cute! Or Milk & Sugar in Bay Shore..... ADORABLE!!!

We rented out a American Legion in Farmingdale (post 516) for our E-Party a month ago and we got it catered through them also. I HIGHLY recommend them, I'll give you their # if you'd like. That American Legion is probably the nicest one I've ever seen and the food was outrageous and VERY affordable. Also the liquor package was a great price too! FM if you want any more info!

Re: Still looking!

I thought about doing a resteraunt so they could take care of everything for me but honestly I really like the idea of having it at a firehouse. I'm prob gonna do the one in East Rockaway (because my family is like cockraches and have spread themselves all over that town so well we may get a discount)

You can get it catered and hire a waitress if you want so your not running around like crazy....I worked as a bartender at a restaurant so I'm kinda lucky. I'm prob gonna end up having beer, wine and soda, cooking some stuff, ordering others, and having a choc martini bar and hot choc for the kids for when they walk in. I'm going to hire 1 person to just help serve the food and drinks at the beginning and help me clean up at the end. I want to try and keep it on the less expensive side. Plus my FFIL is paying for everything and I don't want him to go broke for us. He's got another son getting married before us that just had an Eparty

I dunno...I'm going to do mine around Valentines Day and do a choc theme type of thing. You can decorate these places really nice with practically nothing too.

I dunno JMO- hope it helped
