I told them what I wanted, and 2 out of the 3 told me I could not get the flowers I wanted. So they quoted me on roses and berries. The third can get any flowers from California, but it apparently costs a bundle!

Bouts are about $12 (mini poms)

That's my problem. I wanted non-fallish flowers. My mom passed in December, and I wanted flowers that reminded me of her. So..roses, hydrangea, lilac, lily of the valley...maybe a peonie. I wanted a 'soft look'. The first two florists told me I could not get 'spring flowers in fall' . The third said that those flowers would be $3000! WHAT? We are having our wedding in Gettysburg at a church and the reception is a tent on 25 acres at a bed and breakfast. It's a very rustic, yet old victorian feel.....Edited to add...pics of dresses in album....

Re: Still need help on flowers...
hmmmmmmmmmm.
fringe tulips are very pretty together with roses - they have a very soft feel to them I think (I don't know when they're in season)
Ranunculous has a soft, romantic feel to them too:
Sorry if the images are large.
Maybe you can ask some florists about these flowers?

I have worked in the floral industry, and unfortunately, the florists you met with are correct - it is very hard to get spring flowers in fall and if you want them, you will pay a lot for them because they are shipping from the places where they naturally grow in fall - such as south america, where it's spring when it's fall here. You will have no problem getting roses. Maybe you can ask them to make you roses with other seasonal flowers? Have you asked for their suggestions based on the look you want (soft)? I am doing callas - they are very pretty and soft looking. Maybe roses and callas?
Good luck ....
