We sent out our STD a month ago and we have a couple of people that said they can't make it (one is going to be out of the country, the other studying for the bar). If they already declined, do we still have to sent out an invitation?

This is one of those damned if you do... damned if you don't things.
If you send it they will probably think,... I already said I can't go, why are they sending me an invite etc...
If you don't send it, they will probably think.. wow I am surprised I didn't get an invite. After hearing other people mention they got theirs. etc..
I say play it safe and send it!! Anything can change and its better to just cover yourself. Lord knows people get offended at a drop of a hat!

i would say just to send it. Plans can change so at least extend the actual invite instead of just a STD.

Would it be wrong to include a note saying something like:
We know you mentioned you wouldn't be able to join us, but just in case your plans change, we sent you out this invitation.

I would totally send it. Things can change and its so nice to recieve that pretty invite in the mail. Plus its a just polite.

ok, well apparently I suck, but I am not sending invites to people who have already told me they are not coming. I'm going to double check to be sure of course, but I'm not wasting invites on them.

Yes!! If u want a gift. My friend did this to me bc I was unable to go to her e-party at the time and felt it was rudew. Why should I send a gift if I wasent really invited? Just my opinion

I believe if you send a STD it is only proper to send an invite; IMO I wouldn't include a note but thats just me!

Still send - better to be polite. Even if people are sure they can't come, they may want to save the invitation (am I the only person that saves all the wedding invitations I get?)

We still are. We have 9 definite declines after our STDs were sent. But we are still sending invites
