We sent out our STD a month ago and we have a couple of people that said they can't make it (one is going to be out of the country, the other studying for the bar). If they already declined, do we still have to sent out an invitation?

You still have to send the invite. I have 2 couples that can't go because they already had vacations booked. Once you send a save the date there is no way out of an invite

i am with you! and you dont suck I would def not send it to them esp when I know why they arent coming. I can tell you that the girl who is studying for the Bar def wont come esp bec her bar is about a week after your wedding..so I def wouldnt waste my time sending.

I sent to mine.. like previous posts...you never know, their plans can change and i wanted them to know taht even though they can not make it, they are still invited and that I wanted them to know theya re special to me.

Defn send it. I know every family is different but in my family they still send a check even if they decline. ( italian thing )

I wouldn't do this(send note), it's overkill and takes some of the formality away from the invitations that, chances are, you want to appear formal. I am getting married spring break and a few of my teacher friends can't attend because of long standing time shares and vacations, the etiquette says to send an invite.

definitely still send it because you probably won't get a gift if you don't send an invite
don't count on gifts from guests who decline ... not everyone does that - we only received 2 gifts from ppl who didn't attend ...

We have one friend who we know cant make it due to other obligations ... but we knew that before we event sent out our STDs so ... Yes, I say send!
