Hi Girls, I am a July bride, is it necessary to wear stockings? I don't want to wear them but my mother seems to think I should, what do you girls think?

It's really up to you, but I'm definitely not, too hot and uncomfortable.

For a July wedding I don't think you should. But do whatever is comfortable to you.

I'm not wearing them either.... I was sweating at my dress fitting!! Maybe that's because it all became VERY real!!! But no stockings for me.... too hot!!

Well i will be getting married 8-20-06 i have a an open toe strappy shoe... and i wil not be wearing stockings! It will be to hot! My mother also said i should.

I don't know what it is with Mom's and stockings. She is insistent that I wear them. I am absolutely not going to. I don't wear them on a normal basis, not too mention under a wedding dress, in the dead of summer!

I didn't wear stockings last weekend, and I was sweating BIGTIME....so I can't even FATHOM wearing them in July....

Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! It's going to be too hot in July, I'm early June and I'm not wearing them. No one's going to know anyway!! But I would get a pair just in case of bad weather, then if you don't use them you can save them for something else later (and appease mom!).

No way! I hate stocking...even in February! I wouldnt wear them. I think for a July wedding you'll be burning up if you have them on

I love stockings. I always wear them. If my shoes are open toed, I wear hose without toes. July or December. Leave it to me to be the odd woman out.

I had this same conversation with my mom. I am not wearing stockings i have open toe sandals I can't walk in sandals with stockings on ..... Its too hot to me!!

I'm in the same boat!! I'll be wearing thigh highs under my dress - I just can't wear heals without mylons!

I have found that older women (i.e. mothers, grandmothers) really stress the need for panty hose. Their generation ALWAYS wore them. My opinion, is ditch the stockings if you dont want to wear them.

With the dress and slips alone I was sweating. Stockings would have been awful!!!!
