Stockings or no stocking?

Hi Girls,
I am a July bride, is it necessary to wear stockings? I don't want to wear them but my mother seems to think I should, what do you girls think?

I got married in Nov. and I did not wear them and I had open toed shoes.

I'm getting married in Nov and i'm not wearing stockings. I don't like them. If you are not comfortable wearing them, then don't.

I'm not. It also depends on your shoes. I hate wearing stockings with open toe shoes.

I'm in the same boat!! I'll be wearing thigh highs under my dress - I just can't wear heals without mylons!

I should really correct myself. No I dont wear stockings, I wear the DREADED PANTY HOSE! Yeah even in the sweltering summer. I was a February bride too but my dress was thin and I did not sweat one drop!

IMHO, It is NEVER necessary to wear stockings/pantyhose under a HUGE wedding gown. If you're doing the garter toss, just make sure DH doesn't fully expose your leg when he goes and gets it so your mom doesn't

I wear Panty Hose too!! My job has an optional no-hose summer dress policy, and except for the one time I was too sunburned to wear them I ALWAYS do....not comfortable without them....although I may look into thigh highs for the wedding (I'll try them out during the summer).....but be sure I will have something!

I was contemplating it too & my mom is like 'of course you have to wear stockings' (back to the tradition of always wearing hose)

I think I'm going to wear thigh highs, only b/c personally I'll be more comfortable in my shoes with stockings.

Well i will be getting married 8-20-06 i have a an open toe strappy shoe... and i wil not be wearing stockings! It will be to hot! My mother also said i should.

I am getting married the day before myself. Open toe shoes, no stocking.

With the dress and slip you are going to be way too hot!! Not even counting if you wearing a corset bra.

I didn't - and no one will notice if you do or don't. Do whatever you are most comoftable doing.

I have been contemplating this too.

I am wearing open toe shoes, so I was thinking of wearing open toe thigh highs. I think it would be more comfortable to me wearing my shoes.
