Similarities: among the many -- sense of humor, values, our expectations of one another in marriage, many similar likes/dislikes.
Differences: He can be more traditional politically and religiously (though we agree on the bigger stuff). We think differently - he's in law school (logic based) and I'm trying to become an author (anything goes).

We are def. the same in a lot of way like with the things we like to do for fun but the things that were are different balance us out-
Like he is a spender and i a saver - I NEVER balance the check book he does to the penny -
he is never prepared for things like road trips and bbq's and I over think everything to make sure that we are all set -
he doesnt travel well - I travel very well so i am able to take care of him

I do think so in some instances we are very different! But we get along terrifically and never really fight! We accept eachother's differences...it did take a while for me to get used to the fact that he does not like to clean as much as i do, but we are over it now!!

I'm a spender, he's a saver. I like the Yankees, he's a Met fan. But we both like horror/action movies/comics and all sorts of stuff, and amazingly, we are agreeing on ever aspect of our wedding (so far!). It's very strange, we're opposite, but alike in many ways. I am making no sense here. LOL

our ethnic backgrounds are different, yet so similar big spanish family and a big italian family! we both like to travel, eat out, go to movies, have company over he is more spontaneous- i am such a planner i pay bills early , he waits till the very last day he can send them out...
i can keep going, but i wont but it does make life interesting!

I'd say for the most part we're pretty much the same. Of course we have our differences but every couple does!! It's great that we have a lot in common but then everything else just makes things more interesting!
Lol, our only real 'opposite' is that I'm such a small girl and he's a really big guy. But we look cute together so it's OK!!

we are a lot alike in many ways but then of course we have our differences like any couple and i love that. i feel that he is more financially responsible than i am and i tend to be a little more spontaneous than him at times. he is into all healthy foods and wont eat junk and i do...lol but thats about it, but we do have the same goals in mind for the future which is the most important thing!

Re: Stolen from '05- Do opposites attract?
One the outsde we are complete opposites, and I think we both though we were opposites when we met. We met in HS. He was more shy and reserved, I was sort of wild and crazy and very very social. I'm very right brained, he's very left brained. I majored in theatre, he majored in computer science engineering or something. When he talks about his work, it's greek to me. Actually I know a lot more greek than I know computer language. We have a lot of dissimilar interests. He loves anime and all kinds of cartoons. To me, unless it was made by disney it grates on my nerves. He likes crap like stargate, I watch reality TV and gameshows. he was a huge carnivore, I'm a vegetarian. He's really sort of peaceful and diplomatic and doens;t want to step on toes and I give my opinion whether you like it r not.
But we realized that we're really not so different on the inside. I brought out the silly side in him, and he's brought out the tender side in me, and we've really grown together os much over the years..and sometimes our differences really work for the best. For example, I have a lot of initiaive and a lot of ideas, but virtually no follow through (I have ADD and on top pf it, or ealted to it I amd VERY impatient) He's very patient but he needs a fire lit under his butt sometimes, and of course I'm nothing but fire, so we balance each other out in a lot of ways.
I dated a guy who was a LOT like me. We had the same good qualities and a lot of the same vices. it was this incredibly passionate relationship, but it was 'fire consuming fire' it was destined for failure because there was just NO balance at all.
I'm just really grateful that FH and I have grown together and that we compliment each other so well, and as far as having itnerests in common, we've actually found a lot of those over the years (yes, I finally admitted I do like some sci fi, and depsite his best efforts, he really got into real world/road rules challenge) and others we've created through years of shared experience.
