Stolen from 08- What do you consider cheating?

This is a tough question. Just wanted to see what everyones view on this subject is.

Obviously kissing and touching is cheating but I also think if you have a deep emotional connection with someone other than your spouse than thats cheating too.

Anything physical . . . kissing included.

I mean we all flirt so as long as it does not go beyond 'talk' than I dont consider that cheating.

any sort of physical/sexual interaction with someone besides the person you're in a relationship with i guess. but i could also be in the same school of people who think that deep emotional connections with someone else are cheating as well.... especially if they're not known by the other party in the relationship. hmm tough one. i never really thought about what this term actually means to me.

physical contact and yes a deep emotional connection that is beyond your normal 'friendship'

I think sometimes you can't help being attracted to someone... my dance instructor is GORGEOUS and I flirt with him all of the time... but it is harmless and I tell FH every detail of it... so I don't feel guilty about it... it's just a fun friendship - we dance together, it is almost impossible to not have that kind of interaction - but if there is INTENT or a DESIRE for more... then that is cheating

obviously anything physical.. but definitly in my opinion any kind of deep emotional connection with someone other then your spouse. i think it would hurt more finding out your spouse is in love with someone else other rather then finding out they slept with someone. i hope i never have to worry about either

What I consider cheating:

1. Kissing and beyond
2. An emotional affair

As far as I am concerned, the emotial affair would be worse than the physical. I would be absolutely devistated if my FH found an emotial connection with someone else.

I agree with this. I asked FH and he said any 'Romantic Contact'

yeah, i agree that being attracted to someone certainly isn't cheating. i think that sort of deep emotional connection wtih someone else that your significant other isn't aware of can be considered cheating. but i'm not in a position say - i've never been in a situation like that before.

I feel the same, especially about the emotional connections. I can handle him seeing a girl and thinking she's 'hot' although he's never said anything but I couldnt handle him feeling connected so someone. That's a special feeling.

All physical and emotional behavior!!!

i'm basically on board with everyone else's comments. no touching, no romantic emotional connection w/ another girl.

the sticking point between me & FH is the lap dance. def not okay in my book, but i know a lot of girls who are fine w/ it.

an emotional relationship
kissing and anything physical beyond that
and i dont think flirting is cheating, but some people do.

I think anything that involves kissing, sex, etc. I don't think emotional cheating really counts because would you considering being emotionally close with your best girl friend or a guy friend cheater? Not really. I know I would be really hurt if FH because really close with another girl, and I'd want to address it and fix whatever issues we had in the relationship to make it better. But I wouldn't flip out like I would if he physically cheated with someone.

Re: Stolen from 08- What do you consider cheating?

I do agree with all of you- anything physical, however I almostly lost my FH last night because of what he considered cheating. I had emailed an old guy friend who's in the navy. we met and hung out well before me and FH were together. I came across an old email of his and wrote to him- it's been 5 yrs since we spoke. Unknown to me my FH cracked my email password 2 months ago and has been reading my emails trying to find something incriminating. He's found nothing until last night when he found that message in my Sent file. But he didn't see the 'Delivery Failure' notice in the delete box. the message never got through. I wouldn't have considered an email cheating. But he couldn't stop screaming and didn't want to have anything to do with me. We since patched things up, but thngs don't seem right.
