Stolen from Newlyweds: For those of you who live together... how much do you spend on groceries?

I'm just curious. I sometimes feel like I spend too much!

I don't go EVERY week.... I usually spend about $100.... sometimes more if I buy a bunch of meat.... it depends on which grocery store I go to. There is a HUGE one near us, and, I don't go there every time, but, when I do, I definitely spend more!

I just feel like $100 a week is so much for 2 people!!!!

So, what do you spend?

Monthly we spend about 150-200. We eat out most of the time. Now that the wedding is getting closer we probably will be spending more since we need to cut down going out for dinner to at least 2 nights a week.

In total, between all 3 stores that I shop at, about $150-$200 every other week. FH eats like a horse, so snacks are big in our house and we go thru them faster than the average household

We actually spend a lot...we go to costco every 2-3 weeks and it's always close to $200.....then we do regular supermarket shopping and it's around another $50. But we are coupon clippers, so we do save some money somewhere!

I go every 2-3 weeks, try to buy as much stuff on sale, try not to buy junk food (FH asks for it and never eats it, so what is the point???) and stock up on meat ... and I spend about $120 each time I go. FH works nights 3x a week or so and on those nights I eat cheap usually ...

That doesn't sound high at all but I guess it depends on what youa re getting. I don't live with FH but I like to cook and between meat products and produce it can add up quickly.

We are in the process of moving and so I am cleaning out the fridge/freezer/pantry and I am SHOCKED at how much old food we have. Bags of pasta I bought MONTHS ago or old, old, old stuff in the freezer. I think I am really going to shop differently in the new house. I would rather go to the grocery store once every three days if it meant we were wasting less food.

We probably spend about $200 every 2 Weeks...FH Eats EVERYTHING, so sometimes I have to arrange the refrigerator in such away that certain things can't be seen, lol. Plus we eat out a lot...feeding FH is expensive!!!

i think we spend about 150-200 a month ..we shop at walbaum's and only buy things that are on sale

needless to say..sometimes i have to get creative with what i make...or i just make tons of pasta

100-150 every other week. Sometimes we go to Costco but I feel like we wind up buying all kinds of stuff that we don't need and it's a waste of money!

I try to just buy stuff like TP, paper towels, certain cleaning supplies and books at Costco because it's cheaper. We bought chicken there and ended up throwing most of it away because we didn't eat it quickly enough......

probably about $120 every other week, not including fast food 1-2x per week. we eat as cheap as we can, lol.

I do go every week, and I feel like I have to stop in again during the week for things I forget! I spend at LEAST $100 a week, but we have cats.

When we lived in our old apt we spent about $400/month. That was dinners, lunch for me and breakfasts. That didnt include dining out or takeout.

Now i spend about $200/month for breakfast and lunches b/c I live in an apt above my parents and I eat what they are having for dinner.

FH works all the time so he doesnt eat at home so I dont cook for just myself.

I'm big on looking at the circulars in sunday's paper to see who has what on sale so I avoid spending too much.

we TRY to stretch it out to once a month... but it sometimes it ends up being every 2 weeks... usually its between 150 & 200

Hmmn We spend alot! Considering we eat every meal out & I just buy paper product & munchies, last night my bill was $140 But those personal DiGiorno Pizza's are almost 10 bucks each. I don't go every week it's more like every 10 days
