Stomach troubles...

Stomach troubles...

Please don't quote...this is sort of embarassing. I hope it's not too much info. But for the last three weeks, I constantly feel like I am going to have 'issues'. There have been days where I have...all day....and days where it just feels like it...what is this? Is it stress related? Does anybody know of anything I can do or take? Any info would help...thanks...

Def. try chammomile tea. I have many tummy poroblems because the min. I get stressed I feel it in the tummy and chammomile tea works wonders for me.

Try to stay away from anything greasy, fried, basically just stick to very bland foods. That also helps me when I'm having tummy issues. Also...no caffeine.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I think it's stress, because I keep saying to myself, 'What did I eat???' And sometimes I can pinpoint something really cheesy, creamy, etc that USED to give me problems (usually I am ok now) - but most of the time, I can't.

I think I recommended this the other day ... go to a health food store and ask for acidopholis. It's the stuff in yogurt that restores balance in your intestines. When I remember to take them, I get no problems. These are also good for preventing / helping yeast infections (if you are ever on antibiotics, take a few each day for the entire time you are on them).

I try to take 1-2 of these pills a day. They are really good for you. A friend of mine owns a health food store and swears by them. I think they are good for skin, too.

Ok...the last few weeks I have changed my diet considerably. For breakfast I have cereal and non fat milk. Lunch is either cereal or salad, and dinner is whatever FMIL cooks. I try to not eat anything greasy. So today it's been 2 bowls of cereal and I feel 'funny'....it's starting to get annoying...could it be IBS? what is that anyway?

No coffee, nothing greasy. . .no soda. . . try sticking to healthier foods, but watch your fiber - too much can make it worse

I drink Peppermint tea in the afternoon and it helps keep my stomach calm. . I never tried the chamomille (sp?) tea, but peppermint works for me.

Try Twinings pure peppermint or celestial seasonings tummy mint Feel better, its probably just stress!!!!!

IBS = Irritable Bowel Syndrome

But it sounds like it might be more your change diet than anything else. raw veggies in a salad could be doing that too.

this might be TMI - I have IBS - it is stress related. Depends on what you eat, pretty much everything

Try some immodium but try not to live off the stuff b/c to much wont help.
Acidophilous helps me
and dont eat anything greasy

If you go to the doctor they can give you stuff to calm your stomache

Definitely. I get mine at the drug store in Huntington - I think I've seen it at CVS too. Some need to be refrigerated, some don't. I find that if I can leave it on my kitchen counter, I remember to take it more often!!!!

Yes, sometimes - because it's live bacteria in the pill. (Just like in yogurt.) Some brands don't need to be refrigerated but that doesn't make them any less effective. The GNC can explain it to you better than I can

Re: Stomach troubles...

The BEST acidiopholous (sp?) pills are the ones that have to be refrigerated. I learned this from a co-worker that has had MULTIPLE stomach surgeries due to colitis, colon cancer, etc...

It will take quite a while to see a difference though - so be forewarned. My nutritionist said the yogurt challenge thing is BS - it can take up to a month to make a surefire difference...

Re: Stomach troubles...

Welcome to my life. I have IBS, but sometimes the symptoms of just regular stress can mimic that, esp w/a big event coming up! I'd see a doctor, however, nothing has ever helped my IBS (pills, treatment, diet, exercise, fiber) except for activia yogurt, and even on that I have weeks where its just awful. Like this week!

I BS is irratable bowl syndrome whcih very well might be the case, but you might be lactose intollerant. When i have too much milk or dairy products this happens to me try to stay away from dairy and see how that helps
