STOP THE PRESSES- I DID A DIY. It's a horror, but I'm not doing it again. - PICS IN ALBUM
The entire time I've been on this site, my self-esteem has suffered with each posted DIY pic. 'Hey, I made my invitations!' 'Check out my programs!!' 'Hey, I made my own Rolls Royce, which I will power with my own homemade alternative fuel!'
I hate those posts, because they make me realize my own creative failures. And I ALWAYS have to look at the pics to torture myself. I really have yet to see a bad DIY out of you ladies. I ordered my invites on the internet, and as far as I was concerned, that was as close to DIY as I was getting.
Now that I have completely run out of funds, I have been forced to try my hand at doing it myself. I have been sitting in my apartment with empty shower gift boxes staring me in the face for weeks, and they have been taunting me...saying, 'Make a Card Booooooxxxx out of meeeeee!!!' But alas, no box was made.
Then, this weekend, my mom dragged me to a Home Goods, which I had never been to and was a lot of fun (except for the mirrored life-sized horses head sculpture- is there anyone who needs that? And if he does, does he KNOW he's been asleep for 30 years and no one has that crap anymore? It's like Joey from Friends with the dog sculpture, but this one is mirrored. And a horse head.) Anyway, I find a box there, and think, okay. This is just one box. Maybe I can do something with this.
So I go buy some flowers, and in essence, crapped flora and fauna all over this box to create the most ridiculous card box of all time. It doesn't even resemble a card box- it's just sort of a box. You will notice I couldn't even be bothered to cover the bottom of the box- that's how it came. I hot glued leaves on the top of the box, and was just going to put on a few flowers.
I got carried away.
My point is, my deepest respect to you DIYers. I tried it, and all I have to show for it is this ridiculous box, an even lower self-esteem, a missing upper level of dermis on my hand due to glue gun burns, and confusion as to how I'm going to do everything else if I clearly have no talent. I have attached pics here (if I am able to figure it out, which I suspect, I won't) for your amusement. Feel free to chastise.
