Some people didn't say much but other people (esp the ones who mattered) made a huge deal. That's all that matters.
I have the complete opposite. My family and extended familyall sent us gifts but only 2 people sent us things on his side. his mom didnt get us anything either. or his grandparents or aunts and uncles. I was shocked!
OMG this makes me feel so much better...in a sad way but my fam hasn't said/done much at all! Two people in FH's fam has given us gifts and we have gotten ONE card from neither of the parents. It's so weird...and his cuz just got married a short time ago and I have an inkling one of the gifts is an extra set of toasting flutes that they had leftover. =( I don't understand people! We gave them a nice wedding gift..even though we had to spend way extra money b/c we needed to stay in a hotel and rent a car and so forth..but no complaints....sigh.
yea -- people handle things differently --- None of my friends are engaged, I was the first one out of all of them so I partly think they didnt make a big deal for two reasons: 1) a little jealousy and 2) I honestly don't think they are keyed in to how much a big deal it is until you actually go through it. My best friend just got engaged last week and I made the BIGGEST deal out of it for her because I truely am excited for her -- and she is going to be the only engaged one in my BP and she is really the only one OVERLY excited for me too because she is living it also. The other girls just aren't there yet so they dont know. That is my rationale and I am sticking to it!
