Strange Coincidence...

Hey girls! Just felt like I needed to vent for a minute. I went to look for wedding dresses last week and wound up LOVING the first dress I tried on! I went back yesterday to do some more looking, and realized that no other dress was going to compare to the first one..so I put my deposit down on it. I went home and felt like I was on a high! It was such a special moment and helped me to have a better picture of what my wedding will be like- knowing what I will be wearing. BUT when I woke up this morning I saw that one of my friends from high school had posted pictures of a wedding she went to yesterday. I pulled up the pictures to look at them and realized that the pictures were of another girl that went to my high school and that she got married at Chateau La Mer (the same RH as I am getting married at) AND wore the same dress that I put a deposit down on yesterday. What are the chances of that?! I don't want to let anything get me down, and I am so happy about my dress. But I'm not going to lie.. I feel a little bummed out. Am I overreacting? Or would you guys feel the same way?

This...but its YOUR wedding and im sure that things will be different anyways...try not to think about it as much...you found your wedding dress that the most important thing!!!!!!

Dresses lookk different on different people....the way they carry them...what accessories they will use...and biggest accessory of them all is the groom that goes with the girl and dress.

I wouldn't worry about....you fell in love with it for a reason...go with it!

And you can always remember the little saying from elementary school...

don't let it get you bummed - your wedding is yours and yours alone and it will be special to you for that very reason!!!

Don't let it get you down. Everyone looks different in the same dress. You will make it your own.

I'm not going to lie, that would really bother me and I would probably change the dress. That's just how I am though...something I love can lose its appeal if I see other people have it

realistically though, if you LOVE the dress and aren't in the same social circle, it doesn't matter at all.

Funny story, about dresses. My dress was actually on an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, last season. It aired within weeks of when I ordered my dress. Thankfully, I had already decided that I was going to customize the dress by making the flowers lilac and moving one of the smaller ones to my shoulder.

So, yes my dress was on TV, but thankfully my FH doesn't watch shows like that and you know, they do look different on different people! Don't tell you FH it's the same dress and don't sweat it, if you love it then you know it was meant to be yours!

That is really strange. It would bother me a little bit but if I really loved it I would keep it. It is going to look different on you and I'm sure other people wouldn't even notice.

Thanks guys... I have been totally stressed over this and I even cried at one point yesterday. I did debate whether I should go back and try to find another dress... but in reality that's MY dress. I just love it so much and I don't think I would be happy choosing another dress just because someone else wore it. Luckily she just got married this weekend and my wedding isn't until next May so it's almost a year away. We don't have any of the same people at our wedding as she had at hers.. but you all know how facebook is and how everyone sees everything even if they aren't in your immediate circle of friends. Glad I posted. I really appreciate all the honest opinions. Knew you guys could make me feel better :)
