strange question: anyone doing or did small favor AND donation?

So we are doing a donation but my mother could not get why we werent giving any favors so we decided to get a small box with two small leaf shaped soaps that say 'fall in love' along with the jordan almonds....

We also want to do the donation because its very dear to our hearts...

anyone do both?

Would it be too much to give them the soaps and a small card saying we donated...? wouldi t be confusing...

I wanted to say 'in lieu of traditional favors....yadda yadda yadda' but Idont know now since mom and FMIL insisted on the favors.

We did a box of truffles that had a little scroll attached to it talking about the donation we made.

I would post a picture, but shutterfly is being a big d-bag right now and I can't access my photos.

We did a bag of cracker jacks (to go w/ the baseball/Yankees theme) and a donation.

My family didnt get the donation thing either - they are still confused by it LOL

We did a colombian food as part of our favor so we wrote a little letter explaining what the food was and that a donation was made. We also included a ribbon bookmark to represent the donation.
