My dress is strapless and I am planning an updo, but no necklace. My dress has some ruffle detailing at the top and I think a necklace might take away from the detail...
I'm still up in the air about either an updo or half up half down, but if i do go for the updo i would wear a necklace something not flashy because i already have a headpiece.

well my dress is strapless and Im doing half up half down hair but Im not doing a necklace because I have long earings and my dress is beaded on the top, so I thought it would be too much

Despite the pleas of my mom. I am not wearing a necklace. I want to do dramatic chandelier earrings. My neckline has tons of beading and I thought it would be overkill.
I will google and post some pics for you though.

My dress does have beautiful detailing on the side and in the back.. so i dunno.. and i havent come across anything simple..

It's tough to choose. Have you dont hair trials with both types of style? Maybe if you do that you can see the difference. Since your dress doesnt have any beading in the front, how about like a pearl necklace? It's more simple than a necklace with a whole bunch of sparkle to it. I just read on another post that some girls have gotten their DOJ from annabellagio.com i haven't checked them out but maybe they have something that is not too crazy.

That's actually VERY pretty and simple..
But would dangly earings be too much?
I have a strapless dress and plan to wear my hair half up-half down. I will be wearing a necklace (my mom wore it on her wedding day, and so did my grandmother, so... ). I'll probably just wear small earrings though.
I had a strapless dress. Left my hair down and wore a necklace (but I never wear my hair up anyway so it wasn't even a consideration).
I wore strapless with half up & down & wore a necklace.
im not wearing a neckless. I think between the sparkle on the top of my dress mixed with my tiara n earings should be enough.
Im doing an updo but no necklace. My dress has alot going on at the top.
