Re: stress test?
I've had a stress test done two years ago when my heart started to skip beats. The test only lasted an hour at most, it was just being on the treadmill at different paces, no big. For me it turned out to be all stress related and nothing more serious.

Re: stress test?
FH had one. Not a big deal, just time consuming. They use it to better see how your heart is working during exercise and afterwards. Don't worry, I'm sure you're fine!!

Re: stress test?
Don't get nervous!!!!
I have done this and it is not a big deal
I went to the doctor for a check up and turned out I had a heart murmur and was having some chest pains (Turned out to be gas). What they have you do is walk or jog on a treadmill and hook all this crap up to you. I don't remember it taking 4 hours though. I think I was on there for 1/2 hour or so and then they did a sonogram.
I am sure it is nothing

Re: stress test?
It is my understanding there are 2 types of stress tests. The first is about 1/2 hour to an hour. You walk on a treadmill at all different speeds and they monitor your heart while you're doing that. I've actually had that test and it's really not bad at all. I was having heart palpitations and they needed to figure out why it was happening. Turned out to be anxiety. Go figure.
Anyway, there is another stress test that takes longer, but it's essentially the same as #1. The only difference is after the first part of the test you have to drink this stuff, go home for a few hours, then come back, and they test you again. The stuff you drink allows them to see your arteries. But this test is generally for older people and those that are suseptible to heart disease. I'd bet anything you're having the first test. And it's really no biggie. I'm sure you're fine.

Re: stress test?
My father took the test and he was so nervous (what was ironic was that it was a stress test and yet he was stressing out everyday leading up to the test just because of the test - he kept saying if I did not have to take this stress test, I would have no stress), but after the test he said it was not bad at all, just time consuming. I hope everything is ok!!

Re: stress test?
It's a precautionary measure on your doctors part. It doesn't necessarily mean they'll be anything wrong. I'm sure you'll be ok. Let us know what happens.
